Taking a detour at Marysville, Victoria

The 1st long weekend of 2020 is around the corner, with the gorgeous days of summer still prevailing I am taking advantage of exploring some off-beaten tracks in Victoria.

A small town in the Yarra Valley named Marysville, a picturesque yet a cosy small town that just offers the perfect delight to a long weekend appetite.

#Steavenson Falls

Cascading, Instagram-worthy and ideal location for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Driving through the Yarra valley ranges, the road takes through some curves and bends, finally arriving at the Steavenson Falls parking.

Make sure to have some ready change as the parking station at the Falls doesn’t accept card payment.

There are 2 amazing walking trials one short one which takes you to the falls straight away. The other trail is around 45mins to an hour walk among the rocky undulated road. Depending upon your energy levels choose the type of trail you wish to enjoy.

The entire town’s water supply is catered from this massive falls, hence swimming is prohibited here, the water is crystal clear and its always advisable to stay within the defined tracks for your own safety.

#Bruno Art & Sculpture Garden

The unique artworks of sculptor and painter Bruno Torfs continue to bring joy and inspiration to visitors and even kids. I pumped into this place accidentally and my 6-year-old absolutely loved exploring every corner of this sculpture garden.

A ticketed garden, which doesn’t generally get very crowded and you could spend appx 1-2 hours exploring the amazing sculptures.

A rather than perfect location for a family picnic, unfortunatedly there’s no food inside, but the cafes inthe township offers a good variety of coffee and cakes.
