Destination Review Aireys Inlet | Weekend Notes

Rugged Coastal views, complimented by Sandstones cliffs and picturesque Beaches that’s a travellers paradise. Yes, the Great Ocean road does feature as the N0#1 destination for any Melbourian for a perfect sunny weekend escapade (Aireys Inlet).

We had visited this historic road 3 years back when we had first visited Victoria, like many other tourists we had done a day tour which normally lasted for 16 hours.

So, this year, we thought to break up this Great Ocean Road in 3 parts in exploring Airey Inlet, Lorne and the 12 Apostles separately.

Today I am taking you on a virtual ride to Aireys Inlet on the Great Ocean r0ad, nested between the Marine Park and the Otway National Park.

While driving through the Great ocean road, don’t forget to have a stopover at Anglesea for brunch or lunch. There are a couple of restaurants where you can do some refuelling and needless to say who doesn’t love seafood lunch!

Relax, refuel and enjoy the creek view at Anglesea and don’t forget some to grab some Insta photos over this calm back laid countryside over a glass of wine!

While driving from Anglesea towards Airey Inlet, there are a couple of  stunning beaches, which I would recommend to stop by and take a dip in the famous Rock pools

So, we arrived at our final destination, the Airely Inlet Lighthouse, on Great Ocean Road. If you had seen my Wander Victoria Blog on Cape Schanck you must have loved the Lighthouse views over the Coral Sea.

Just 250meter walk up to the Lighthouse, allows you to capture stunning landscapes views of few Apostles, there are several Lookout points here, so make sure you visit all of them for a unique experience.

I stopped by all the lookout points for a couple of mins to grab as many Insta shots I could make sure to carry a jacket as its generally windy this place throughout the year.

Don’t forget to take the Lighthouse (Also known as White Queen)tours to catch the panoramic views of the breathtaking coastal views!

There isn’t much of bushwalking or trail walking here, so this little coastal town serves as the perfect weekend hideout place for any couple or family!

If your lucky enough you can find a boutique cafe in this is to grab a cup of your favourite coffee, sit and enjoy the view and escape the hustle bustle. That’s the beauty of countryside coastal towns, it just offers what the tourist is looking for!

If you have already been to Aireys Inlet, don’t forget to share your experience with me on my blog on my Instagram.

If you love reading new travel stories every week, then you’re at the right place. Have missed my previous weekend Notes?Aireys Inlet, destination review
