The fashion hub of Australia scintillates with VAMFF!

The fashion capital of Australia scintillates at the 19 day long Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival in March’17.

Here, I bring to you some exclusive preview in collaboration with the Sydney based ace photographer Bijen’s Photography entailing various events that cruised on the Runway.

The premium runways were the highlights of the Fashion festival; there were back to back 7 Runways throughout the festival days. Australian Designers, who showcased their collection in the world class fashion event.

The Premium Runway hosted the designer Runways were; Dion Lee, Macgraw, Carla Zampatti, Romance Was Born, Ginger & Smart, Yeojin Bae, Manning Cartell

The show gave its viewers an experience of falling in love;” Romance was Born “curated the snowing runway and its fabulous collection was the highlight of the runway 3.

In short, Runway 3 encapsulated the essence to kick start a stylish autumn with its fur jackets, tops, skirts, silted skirts and the off shoulders to go along. Crisp cream, beige, red and orange dominated the Runway and not to forget the flared dresses and skirts.

What stole the show was the Fur Off shoulder top, which made every fashionista crave to have one in their wardrobe as well.

The Premium Runway showcased the emerging Australian Designers like Finders, Isabelle Quinn, Keepsake and Taluah to name a few.

My favourite pick from the Runway was that of Taluah, it had all it cloudy say flairs, off shoulders, with subtle blend of orange, red and beige dominated the runway.

Brands like Wild horses and S. Wallis captured furs, frills and off the shoulders trends that we can inherit off the runway too. The 4th Premium Runway was presented by Shop till you drop magazine, wherein one could shop immediately while being seated and watching the show. It was first of its kind experience that was available to the viewers, being the first to own it straight from the runway.

The GQ Mens Fashion-wear, Australia’s largest designer line up for menswear didn’t fail to impress us with its variety line like Aquila shoes, Jack London, Calibre and Dom Bagnato to name a few.

This Runway went high for viewers specially with Asahi Beer being served on arrival.

The penultimate day was for Runway 5, featuring designers like Misha Collection, Camilla, Thurley, Zhivago and Rachel Gilbert to name a few.

Lacies, drapes, wrap around dresses, off the shoulder sequined dresses were the highlight of the Runway. My favorite pick was from the brand Camilla, aesthetically appealing design, color and patterns; they had everything to make it straight from Runway to off runway fashion statement.

Runway 6, was chic, trendy, sporty and fresh, the theme revolving its centerfold that focuses on feminism. The Runway line up included Brands like Anna Quan, Bul, Viktoria & Woods and Ryder to name a few.

The finale Premium Runway 7 presented by Oyster, was a short and sweet line up of designers like Pageant, Garbage TV, Eugenie and Kloke to name a few.

Casual and funky this runway ended with a showstopper collection by Garbage tv, the freezing moment was where the models ended up taking a “Selfie” on the stage.

Apart from the Runways, there were Priceline hair and makeover booths that made sure, you are runway ready, while you watch them. They took care of the trends and look of the season. They had media walls for everyone to pose and photographers who asked you to pose.

The other popup booths were that of cosmopolitan magazine, 6 by 6 ft Magazine and not to forget that of Virgin Australia.

With such an amazing wrap to a 19 day long fashion affair makes us impatient that 2018 VAMFF arrives soon and with even more trendsetting styles.

My Hiking escapade to the Grampians!

Think about adventure in Victoria and you have a plethora of things in your mind to choose from. One of them is the Grampians National Park, this place gives a taste of Aboriginal Culture, outdoor activities, adventurous hiking, walking trails, wildlife encounters and breath-taking rugged landscapes.

Perched at approximately 370 Kms drive from the Melbourne City, the smooth drive through to this National park takes you through the Ballarat, Ararat and a few countryside regions before arriving at the National Park.

At Ballarat!

Before i arrived at the first stop Brambuk, National Park and cultural Center, i took a lunch stopover at the Halls Gap. This area is surrounded by the National Park and gives stunning views for a perfect picture moment!

You will also get to spot not less than 10 varieties of Australian Origin birds along with the famous kookaburra here, however the kangaroos are only visible just before dusk.

The Barmbuk, is the perfect place to experience Australia’s native flora and fauna and Aboriginal culture. The National Park and Cultural Center is 100 per cent owned and operated by Aboriginal people and is the longest running Aboriginal Cultural Center in Australia. If your keen in knowing the Aboriginal communities of Western Victoria this is your place to know it all, be it didgeridoo music, traditional dance, basket weaving, boomerang throwing and painting.

The first hiking begins at the Mackenzie waterfall this is just 20 kms drive from Halls Gap and a 1.9 kms steep trail to climb back. The iconic and spectacular Mackenzie Falls is a must for all visitors to Grampians National Park. There are couple of Lookout points like Mackenzie Falls Lookout Walk, Broken Falls Lookout and the Bluff Lookout.

But hiking down to the base of the falls is worth all the energy and effort, I was fortunate to spot a rainbow too, don’t get overwhelmed by the ice-cold water and the view as swimming is not permitted due to strong currents. However you can happily dip your tired feet’s and enjoy the cold splashes, while you enjoy this beauty.

The Grampians features a striking series of sandstone mountain ranges, one of them is the Jaws of Death. This rock formation looks like a Jaw of a deathly animal, its prohibited to climb these rocks as there has been a few deaths in the past while climbing them. However, one can pose and take some lovely shots overlooking these deathly jaws.

Located within half an hour drive from Halls gap, Lake Wartook is a delightful venue boasting a serene setting perfect for all weekend and day trippers. It is also one of the largest and most renowned lakes in the Grampians region. However, the view from the tops were equally breath-taking. The blue haze that’s visible is due to the eucalyptus trees that gives this effect.

A day’s trip is short time to explore the entire Grampians, people spend weeks here, as there are many walking trails which ranges up-to several days and some hidden landscapes which is worth the hike. There are some amazing resorts and backpackers at the Halls Gap to stay back, if your keen to catch the sunrise in the mountains.

I said good bye to the balconies and headed back to the Halls Gap to catch the Kangaroos at dusk. So till the time the extended summer stays on, take advantage and head out on the roads to the Grampians.

Date Lunch in my Floral Off Shoulder Cropped top & A line Skirt!

The days are officially approaching towards an end to the Australian summer, and before i bid adieu, here’s what i wore to celebrate the Last Summer weekend in Style!

I had won a couple VIP Pass for La La Land Screening at the Shimmer lands, Melbourne with Wine and Dine; and I wore this beautiful floral Off Shoulder Cropped top with a matching A line skirt.

img_6760img_6759

The midriff baring top is a wardrobe staple and when you happen to pair it with a high waist A line skirt, it does hike up your style quotient!

img_6749

Kept it simple as the outfit speaks a lot in itself; with matching heels, some basic accessories with my day time makeup and a statement bag to go along!

img_6743

img_6748

Summer is almost over, and I had to make sure I rocked this with an Off shoulder Floral Cropped top and A line Skirt before the season officially ends! Personally i love Cropped tops and when this is matched with high waist skirt, your bound to be the  cynosure of all eyes!

img_6752

So go ahead ladies, make sure to have fun and enjoy the last summer Weekend in Melbourne! And like i always say it keep it Stylish off runway too!

My V day outfit is all about Casual Glam!

We judge an outfit to define an individual’s personality, that speaks for itself even without uttering a word! I always believe in power dressing and when it comes to dressing up for occasions, I choose my outfit that has lots of oomph and drama embroiled.

And this Valentine was no different, I chose to ditch the classic Red and moved over to something that features my glamour quotient.

img_6450
Floral Print Tube Play suit!

I kept it simple by styling this floral printed play suit with nude heels and a choker with a classic clutch to go along with it. Picked this Glam outfit from H&M Melbourne, didn’t realize i would find my size though.

img_6435

img_6430

I headed out for a lunch date with hubby and the floral outfit did make heads turn; Melbourne with its unpredictable weather conditions turned out to be chilly that day, so I carried along a black jacket to radiance in the warmth necessary on Valentine’s Date.

A simple yet a casual outfit can turn your glam quotient UP provided one style’s it accordingly!

With a few days left for summer, the wait for fall begins so there aren’t many occasions to flaunt a tube outfit, so make the most of it now!

img_6457

We headed to Phamish Food and Wine bar at St. Kilda, this place happens to be one of my favorite eat out joint and I absolutely love their spread of food delicacies. Am simply a fan of their healthy range of smoothies and it should get a definite trial on your next visit here.

img_6486
Healthy Smoothies to go along with Lunch!

So, go ahead and the make your date lunch special by adding a casual glam factor to it! At the end, whatever you wear, flaunt it with confidence and your style factor gets a heads up automatically!

Playful in a Playsuit!

Summer is all about experimenting with new looks, spaghetti’s, off shoulder or be it tube dresses. My personal favourite for summer has always been “A line” dresses or a body-con if I am attending a formal event.

But however, both stands redundant, when u wish to stand out and yet look voguish at all occasions.

Recently I had my hands on a new clothing style and this made me feel; it would be the perfect time to flaunt a play-suit, be it Brunch with an old friend, dinner date with hubby or you are sailing with family on a boat!

I started playing around with a play suit and in a short while this has surely become my personal favourite.
This quintessential element has found a special place in my wardrobe; the perfect companion for Dinner dates, House parties and Beach hop on evenings.

Play-suit from Dotti!

I wasn’t a play-suit or a Jumpsuit person, being petite always stopped me flaunting a jumpsuit and I always felt I don’t have a perfect figure to flaunt a play-suit either. The cold shoulder Play-suit from Valley girl, fetched me innumerable compliments off late and i am looking out to try more of this style.

Fusion clothing that’s comfortable as well as a trendsetter!

With 100 days of summer at our disposal we still have many days to flaunt one such outfit every day!

So, go ahead guys, be trendy and look at your best even when you’re “off the runway”!

Cricket,Was a family Affair at the “Bupa Family Day”!

The upcoming 10 days long Christmas holiday season for the Victorians was embarked with Cricket Australia and BUPA hosting a Family day at MCG, on 23rd of Dec 2016.

It was no less than a family carnival for the cricket lovers and of course the young and the old players as well. Family Photo booths, Nickelodeon play stations, BBL (Big Bash League) Mascots adorned the arena as well as watching the Australian and the Pakistani Teams practice in the nets.

img_4756img_4757

They did came up to the audiences to give autographs and take selfies with them. Huge number of supporters from both the teams flooded the ground making the atmosphere electrical much before the actual match.
