Coastal extravaganza | Port Stephens
Fly into the Newcastle airport from anywhere in Australia, Port Stephens is just 35 km from the airport. We hired a car and headed straight to the Salamander Bay.
A destination, which offers almost everything, majestic beaches, kayaking, dolphin watch, koala spotting, mountain trekking and sweeping bay views.
#Tomaree Mountain Summit
The Tomaree Mountain Summit walk, at Port Stephens was on our list for the 1st day, though we ventured Port Stephens (Newcastle) during peak winter, the trek up to the Tomaree mountain summit was a cake walk.
Port Stephen is best ventured with a car, a decently small coastal town which offers amazing bay views from many corners of the town.
The trek up to the top of the Tomaree Mountain summit takes appx 20 mins and isn’t a hard task to climb with a toddler too. There are designated path and walking trail along with stairs making the trek easy for any age group.
For rewarding and panaromic views over Port Stephens and the surroundislands of port stephensing islands of Boondelbah islands nature reserves, this tour is highly recommended by me.
#Tomaree Mountain Lookouts
There are plenty of Lookouts over the Salamander and the Shoal Bay from the Tomaree top.
Calm your senses with the 360-degree view of the Tasman Sea, or just sit down and relax over some food while you unwind with your family.
#Salamadar Bay
#Fingal Bay
Have you spotted a whale before?
If not then your at the right place to do so, whale spotting during winter is a common activity that visitors and locals indulge at the Fingal Bay.
The Fingal bay offers pretty rustic views of the Tasman sea and the huge mountain rocks compliment its beauty too. There are stunning Port Stephens Light House views, however, you can only access the Island Lighthouse through a small spit of land which goes underwater during the high tide.
This is one of those best-hidden beaches, you would love to wander.
#Nelson Bay
Nelson Bay is the commercial hub of Port Stephens and one of the most enchanting towns of Newcastle. Dolphin watches and sunset cruises are famous during warmer weathers but we did manage to do the whale watching cruise.
#Zenith Beach
NSW has the most stunning beaches and seaside chill points, if you cant fly to Queensland to enjoy the crystal clear water, Port Stephens would be an easier and nearby option for you.
One of those unpatrolled beaches, which has plenty of rooms for kids and families to enjoy. The sunset from this beach was absolutely beautiful.
we took the Zenith beach coastal walk and
Where to eat?
If I am vacationing at a Coastal destination, I would love to dine with amazing panoramic views and I am sure you would agree with me as well.
Port Stephens doesn’t have the dearth of places which offers a 360-degree view with great luncheons.
One of the best lunch views in Port Stephens is undoubtfully the Inner Light Rooms, which is located at Shoal Bay.
