The fashion capital of Australia scintillates at the 19 day long Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival in March’17.

Here, I bring to you some exclusive preview in collaboration with the Sydney based ace photographer Bijen’s Photography entailing various events that cruised on the Runway.

The premium runways were the highlights of the Fashion festival; there were back to back 7 Runways throughout the festival days. Australian Designers, who showcased their collection in the world class fashion event.

The Premium Runway hosted the designer Runways were; Dion Lee, Macgraw, Carla Zampatti, Romance Was Born, Ginger & Smart, Yeojin Bae, Manning Cartell

The show gave its viewers an experience of falling in love;” Romance was Born “curated the snowing runway and its fabulous collection was the highlight of the runway 3.

In short, Runway 3 encapsulated the essence to kick start a stylish autumn with its fur jackets, tops, skirts, silted skirts and the off shoulders to go along. Crisp cream, beige, red and orange dominated the Runway and not to forget the flared dresses and skirts.

What stole the show was the Fur Off shoulder top, which made every fashionista crave to have one in their wardrobe as well.

The Premium Runway showcased the emerging Australian Designers like Finders, Isabelle Quinn, Keepsake and Taluah to name a few.

My favourite pick from the Runway was that of Taluah, it had all it cloudy say flairs, off shoulders, with subtle blend of orange, red and beige dominated the runway.

Brands like Wild horses and S. Wallis captured furs, frills and off the shoulders trends that we can inherit off the runway too. The 4th Premium Runway was presented by Shop till you drop magazine, wherein one could shop immediately while being seated and watching the show. It was first of its kind experience that was available to the viewers, being the first to own it straight from the runway.

The GQ Mens Fashion-wear, Australia’s largest designer line up for menswear didn’t fail to impress us with its variety line like Aquila shoes, Jack London, Calibre and Dom Bagnato to name a few.

This Runway went high for viewers specially with Asahi Beer being served on arrival.

The penultimate day was for Runway 5, featuring designers like Misha Collection, Camilla, Thurley, Zhivago and Rachel Gilbert to name a few.

Lacies, drapes, wrap around dresses, off the shoulder sequined dresses were the highlight of the Runway. My favorite pick was from the brand Camilla, aesthetically appealing design, color and patterns; they had everything to make it straight from Runway to off runway fashion statement.

Runway 6, was chic, trendy, sporty and fresh, the theme revolving its centerfold that focuses on feminism. The Runway line up included Brands like Anna Quan, Bul, Viktoria & Woods and Ryder to name a few.

The finale Premium Runway 7 presented by Oyster, was a short and sweet line up of designers like Pageant, Garbage TV, Eugenie and Kloke to name a few.

Casual and funky this runway ended with a showstopper collection by Garbage tv, the freezing moment was where the models ended up taking a “Selfie” on the stage.

Apart from the Runways, there were Priceline hair and makeover booths that made sure, you are runway ready, while you watch them. They took care of the trends and look of the season. They had media walls for everyone to pose and photographers who asked you to pose.

The other popup booths were that of cosmopolitan magazine, 6 by 6 ft Magazine and not to forget that of Virgin Australia.

With such an amazing wrap to a 19 day long fashion affair makes us impatient that 2018 VAMFF arrives soon and with even more trendsetting styles.
