The upcoming 10 days long Christmas holiday season for the Victorians was embarked with Cricket Australia and BUPA hosting a Family day at MCG, on 23rd of Dec 2016.

It was no less than a family carnival for the cricket lovers and of course the young and the old players as well. Family Photo booths, Nickelodeon play stations, BBL (Big Bash League) Mascots adorned the arena as well as watching the Australian and the Pakistani Teams practice in the nets.

My 3 year old accompanied me to the Family day, for this 4 hour long family celebration. The entrance to the venue welcomed us with a Bupa Photo booth who were taking personalized shots for the family, which eventually went into a lucky draw.. and guess what …we weren’t that lucky!

It was lovely to see the kids dressed up in their favorite Milo T20 jerseys, playing cricket with their parents. Nickelodeon had a number of play station for the kids, Paw Patrol, Sponge bob and Jungle adventure to name a few.

The families also had an opportunity to watch the Australian and Pakistani squads practicing for their boxing day match at the nets. They did came up to the audiences to give autographs and take selfies with them. Huge number of supporters from both the teams flooded the ground making the atmosphere electrical much before the actual match.

In short Cricket a Sport for all was indeed a fun filled event, making cricket a game for all ages.

Looking forward for such family engagement activities more with Cricket Australia.
